Almeida Revista e Atualizada (RA) is translated by João Ferreira de Almeida. The updated and revised version retains the main characteristics of formal equivalence used by the original Almeida translation. It is the result of over a decade of theological and linguistic review, updating the previous corrected and revised edition. While remaining faithful to the original texts, the language of this Bible is alive, accessible, clear, and noble, avoiding both slang terms and terminology that are too academic or too literary. The text of this edition conforms to the orthographical reforms of the Portuguese language from 2009. The Bible Society of Brazil desires for this second edition of the Holy Bible, translated byJoão Ferreira de Almeida, to continue to be a powerful tool for building up God's people who speak Portuguese.

The Nova Tradução na Linguagem de Hoje is prepared by the Bible Society of Brazil. It follows the dynamic equivalence's principles of translation, nonetheless being faithful to the original text (written in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek). The meaning of the text is given in words and forms of the Brazilian spoken Portuguese. Every effort was taken to make sure that the language would be simple, clear, natural, and exempt of ambiguities.
